Welcome to Gabon

"Would you like to go on an exciting journey to Gabon?" This question stumped a lot of tourists. However, visitors of this blog know what they can see in this African country. This and the Museum of Arts and Traditions, which is the best in Africa, and the church of Saint-Michel with its unique architecture with a singing in chorus, and the best markets in the region - all at your service. Despite its small popularity seaside resorts of the country are quite popular among connoisseurs of the rest. Many bars, luxury hotels, sandy beaches and water rides will not leave you without a good experience.

Gabon places and attractions are concentrated not only in the most beautiful African city - Libreville, but also in other villages that surround the capital. If you prefer cultural activities, casinos and night bars, the area of ​​Cape Lopez Island Manju - this is what you need. And if you want to enjoy the pristine nature of Gabon, the way to keep Lasturvill, which is famous for its unique scenic waterfalls, located right in the city. River rafting, hiking and cycling tours, visits to indigenous villages - this is only a small part of the exciting and interesting attractions that can be found in Gabon.

                                                       PORT-GENTIL

Port-Gentil (Fr. Port-Gentil) - the second largest city of Gabon, located on the coast, in the west of the country, about 144km. southwest of Libreville. Located on a narrow spit Manji, bordering the Gulf of Guinea, and is separated from the mainland wide estuary Ogove and impenetrable equatorial forests.  There is no overland road to Port-Gentil : you can reach the city either by air or by water ferry from Libreville (about 4 hours on the way).


Center of Port Gentil is built up with modern cottages in the French colonial style, there is a lot of greenery, cafes and restaurants. True, a little farther from the center of cottages gradually merge with the slum housing, but this is the routine for most cities in Africa and tourists do not drive there.



What is so interesting about this city? Despite the fact that Port Gentil is the largest cargo port of Gabon and the center of the oil industry in the country, this city also has a lovely (and not even very dirty) beaches, the presence of quite decent hotels and lodges for relaxation, entertainment as well as a developed infrastructure (casino night clubs). All of this is concentrated at Cape Lopez and originally intended for the playground of the rich oil companies and representatives of the U.S. and European companies. Now this part of Port-Gentil begins actively used for tourism purposes.


KONGOU FALLS


Waterfalls Kong (Fr. Kongou) located in the eastern Gabon, on the river Ivindo in the eponymous national park. The height of the falling water reaches 56m., And the total width of the adjacent one another successive stages than 3km. Kong is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Central Africa, and not just entered the tops of interesting places in the region according to different tourisme agencies. In this case, it is located away from the tourist trails of Gabon, the closest major city to the hotel - Makokou.



CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN

Crystal Mountain (fr.Monts de Cristal) - hilly mountain range (low, 600-900 meters above sea level), covered with forest. Located in the west of Gabon, about 75 km. inland from the Atlantic coast, 100km. from the capital city of Libreville. Between the generators of Crystal Mountain hills teeming rapids river flows Mbe. Its name, they got because most of the time hidden in the fog, but when the fog dissipates after all, they very expressive glisten in the sun.

The main wealth Crystalpine mountains - plant and animal. Here amazing abundance of orchids and begonias, and of the animals - forest elephants, buffalos, lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, mandrills, many species of reptiles. From the very very rare books in the Crystal Mountains can be seen leopard and black colobus (this is a unique tetradigitate monkey that has no thumb, which, actually, is a distinctive feature of any primate). In order to preserve all this natural wealth, the Gabonese government established  the Crystal Mountains National Park. No tourist infrastructure is not here, all this remained unexplored places humid tropical forest.

About the blog!part 2

As I wrote before I have a dream to see, visit and to become a part of this beautiful world. Weel, actually I am already a part of it, but for me it is not enough. I have a desire to explore every part of this magnificent world. In previouce article I wrote about Burkina Faso, as for me it is not very known and explored country in Africa. Nobody care about Africa and people in Africa, but It is known that Africa is considered to be a  the cradle of civilization.
On my blog I wiil not only write about countries, where they are located or what is the form of government. I want to extend my knowledge in history of the world and the current way of things which has place to be. So as I can say in this blog you wll have an opportunity to gain some knowledge in geography and interesting facts about countries, cultures,  traditions and special places which are located on the planer Earth.

Welcome to Burkina Faso

BURKINA FASO

Burkina Faso is in West Africa. Slightly larger than the state of Colorado,the population of Burkina Faso is 16.2 million people, the country ranked 11th in the world in natural increase. Official language is French.Often used short name - Burkina.

 Burkina Faso is one of the richest countries in Africa, the resort attracts visitors primarily exotic nature.The name of the country of Burkina Faso is translated as "the birthplace of honest people." Indeed, the local people - friendly, sociable and hospitable people, always ready to laugh. Inviting guests "for a cup of coffee" - one of the tourist "brands" of the country. The more so that the coffee is brewed here almost 30 ways, and very high quality.

Burkina Faso flag

Burkina Faso flag - red and green horizontal stripes with a yellow five-pointed star in between. The symbolic significance of red - a revolution, green - natural wealth. The star was initially also a symbol of the revolution, but later came to signify the mineral wealth

National emblem
National emblem - shield that keep the two white stallion. By color and pattern shield coincides with the flag state. Above the shield and below are two tapes held spears. Emblem adopted in 1997.


State system of Burkina Faso

Cuisine
The most popular among tourists dish "braai", which is a grilled meat and maize, mixed with

traditional way. No special culinary delights, and the basis of cuisine are dishes of meat, poultry 
and fish.

Landmarks of Burkina Faso
1. Ouagadougou - is a capital of Burkina Faso. Ouagadougou (or Uaga) standing at the crossroads of several ancient trade routes - it is rather a large provincial town than a metropolis. The central part of the capital can be bypassed for one and a half to two hours. The main attractions - the epic monuments and grand buildings of different eras. There are surprisingly many wide tree-lined boulevards, soft atmosphere and relatively clean air. Unlike most African cities, Ouagadougou inhabited by non-Muslims, which clearly reflected in his life - in the city's many restaurants, bars and clubs.


Banfora
Banfora - two main streets of Ouagadougou, a petrol station, a bank and two hotels as well as a starting point for a trip to the waterfalls Karfiguela - a rare phenomenon in these parts. Waterfalls are interesting all year, but really capture the imagination in the rainy season. Picturesque rock Dame de Karfiguela, located near the falls, is a good place to explore and waterfalls, and the entire neighborhood.

National Museum
